On Oct. 30, Hypatia’s Voice organized a concert to pay tribute to the women of the suffrage movement.

The local women’s choir based in Ottawa called its concert “Our Grandmothers were strong: Songs of suffrage and strength.” It was a trip down the memory lane through music, to recall and celebrate the struggles of the women who fought for the right to vote.

I was at the event for the stories, the performance and to bear witness.
