My name is Halima Olajumoke Sogbesan. I am a Nigerian student completing the final year of a Master of Journalism degree at Carleton University in Ottawa.
I have interned with the Kingston Whig-Standard and the Ottawa Sun. I have also written for Nigeria’s Premium Times and The Nation newspapers.
I spent the summer of 2016 working as a communications officer with Farm Radio International in Ghana, and in Nigeria, interviewing women who have returned home from Boko Haram captivity about their homecoming experiences.
Prior to the degree in journalism, I worked with ActionAid Nigeria as a Governance consultant.
